Jennifer Lopez
Lucy Liu
At first glance, Lucy Liu's dress looked like a Shabby Chic comforter. It's actually a Carolina Herrera dress, and the colorful floral pattern made it stand out among the countless solid gowns.
Amy Poehler
There were many black dresses on the red carpet, but only one pantsuit: Amy Poehler's sleek Stella McCartney number.
Julianne Hough
Proving that more is more, Julianne Hough chose a huge, voluminous Monique Lhuillier gown which was packed with drama between the embellished top and very full skirt.
Halle Berry
Angelina who? Halle Berry went for her own thigh pose in a colorful, one-shoulder dress by Versace. (For the record: Angelina Jolie was also dressed in Versace when she struck her now infamous pose.)
Sienna Miller
Dressed in an Erdem top and skirt, Sienna Miller paid homage to the 60s fashion of The Girl, for which she was nominated for best actress in a miniseries or movie.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift continued her grown-up red carpet look with this plum Donna Karan dress. Rhinestones and ball gowns, we (still) don't miss you.
Jessica Chastain
Jessica Chastain's Calvin Klein dress was beautiful in its simplicity: pretty draping and a surprising sea foam green shade made it a red carpet standout.
Marion Cotillard
As a brand ambassador for Dior, it was unsurprising to see Marion Cotillard arrive in a dress by the French fashion house. This strapless look was underwhelming though, especially when you consider all the fantastic gowns that Raf Simons has created since assuming the role of artistic director.
Amanda Seyfried
Amanda Seyfried wore Givenchy couture, though you'd be forgiven for not knowing it. The cream lace dress looked a bit dowdy, particularly with the metal piece up top.
Zooey Deschanel
Zooey Deschanel must have really loved the Reem Acra dress she wore to the Emmys in September, because the actress chose almost the exact same gown for the Golden Globes. This time the dress was red and designed by Oscar de la Renta, but it looked all too familiar.
Rachel Weisz
Rachel Weisz changed up her typical red carpet look (strapless, dramatic) in this black ensemble. The polka dot pattern and bow detail seemed a bit too girly though.
Nicole Richie
There was an ethereal quality about Nicole Richie's Naeem Khan gown, from the soft blue shade to the intricate beading and pattern. And it stood out because nothing else on the red carpet looked anything like it.
Kerry Washington
Kerry Washington went for a romantic vibe with her blush Miu Miu dress and matching Prada pumps.
